According to a report in the Express-Times, by Sarah Cassi, the former Brown-Daub Ford Lincoln Mercury dealership at the corner of Jandy Boulevard and 191, across from Giant, will be converted into a Wawa gas station and retail space (read the article here).
Several approvals are still necessary and the site is in Lower Nazareth Township.
According to the report, sketch plans provided to the township indicate the existing buildings will be demolished to make way for the new ones.
While we all need gas does it seem to anyone else that we may not be in need of another gas station in Nazareth? I'm all for developing the property, but I guess I was hoping that something "different" could have gone in. Giant now has gas, the mini-market on the corner and Ralph's across the street will make four gas stations within maybe a quarter of a mile (less?).
What do you think? Given the size of the space, what type of facility would you like to see go in? What type of retail do you expect or would you like? What would be different, but well-suited for the area?

A book store
A health food store
A skating rink
A restaurant
A Bowling alley
Anything but a gas station, well, not anything.
Wawa has really good soft pretzels.
Are they philly good pretzels? I don't think they get any better than the ones I've had there.
I thought a restaurant would be good, too, but it would have to be one that we don't have two miles away. There are many chains and it'd be great to get one that doesn't exist elsewhere in the Valley - How 'bout Dave & Busters? Now that's a fun place, give both the kids and the adults something to do.
Why not convert it into a government center?
I actually considered putting that in the post and withdrew it for two reasons:
1. It is in lower nazareth, technically speaking,
2. I really do want it in the downtown business district.
Would have the space and parking to accomodate them though!
