Out of Idle Curiosity

When I refreshed my browser to check the news site I saw a google ad that read: "Teacher Salaries, The Spot to Find it, It is all here, eteachersalaries.com". Pretty relevant ad - good job google.

So I went for it. I clicked on the ad, earned my one thousandth of a cent, and began to enter the requested information (I later returned to put my own info in to see how my salary stacks up - it was a pretty slick interface - but didn't render very suitable matches. Apparently there were alot more teachers than there were non-profit membership managers). I said I was a secondary teacher with 7 years experience and a masters from East Stroudsburg University. It also asked for geographical information so I entered Nazareth, PA 18064. It prompted me to purchase so super reports and I declined. At the end came a nice grid with some information:

The Salary Range for Similar Profiles - was from $32,000 to $49,000 with $40,234 as the average.

The Health Benefits tab indicated that 52% had health, medical, dental, and vision as a benefit; 24% had health and medical; 8% had medical only; and 16% received no benefit.

Does this mean anything? Probably not. I have no idea what data is used to support it, but it is raining out and right there before me.

Do you have a useful site where information of this sort can be found or research you've done in regard to the topic? Let us know by including it in the comments.
