Library Book Contest

The Memorial Library of Nazareth has announced its fourth annual Young Author & Illustrator Contest.

This contest is wonderful for children and those in grades K-12 are eligible to participate.

My daughter has entered each year and the Library does a great job. Winners (and depending on entries the number varies) have their book bound in hardcover with one copy being added to the library and one for the child.

While writing the story, typing on the computer, drawing the pictures, and coloring them in is fun, the reward is even greater. She loves to see her book on the shelf, search her own name in the catalog to see if anyone is reading her book, and see it on display during promotions for the young authors or holidays (one story was a Christmas book so its been displayed with 'professionally' published books).

If you child enjoys telling stories or drawing pictures, this is a great contest for them.

The contest begins on February 1 and entries must be submitted by March17.

Rules are available at the library and you can contact the Children's Librarian Catherine Steward (610.759.4932) if you have any questions.

Students must live within the supporting municipalities of Bushkill, Upper, and Lower Nazareth Township or the borough of Nazareth.
