Board Meeting from the Daily Press

The Morning Call (read it here) and Express-Times (read it here) both report on last night's meeting. You can also read Brad Moulton's notes here.

Both press articles discuss the approved turf field at Andrew S. Leh Stadium and the salary increase for Superintendent Lesky.

Of interest on the latter is that both explained that Lesky's salary now includes a $3800 payment toward his retirement that he has received in previous years but wasn't considered a part of his salary.

When it wasn't considered a part of his salary, JD Malone reported that "past salary levels for Dr. Lesky indicating his pay was $111,718 in 2004-05, $118,600 in 2005-06, and with this vote his 2006-07 pay (retroactive to July 1, 2006) will be $127,541."

So now the NASD is retroactively correcting his salary to have been $122,400 to make it a smaller percentage increase than the teacher's contract.

I'm glad to see that NASD is trying to disclose full information, but it seems to occur most often when it is convenient or beneficial and it leaves one to wonder if this is an incremental disclosure as well. For instance, what other compensation, benefits, and paid expenses are received that are not a part of the reported salary? If the salary was underreported, which figure was used when comparisons to other districts were made to determine his new salary? And I want to point out, this is not about Dr. Lesky, but about the way the Board of Directors are running our school district. They are the responsible party.

Let's get real when it comes to the superintendent, his salary and benefits. Along with the $3800 he has been receiving clandestinely for years he probably has insurance policies that are either life or annuities. He will be paid, probably at the rate of $100 per day for unused sick leave. Though the Board, shame on them, does the voting let's not forget that Superintendent Lesky is running the show. Do you really think that all is legal behind those closed doors before every meeting. Haven't you wished that you were the proverbial fly on the wall so you could find out what was really going on? The game plan is laid out back there for the evening. This Board is filled with yes men the one exception being Maher and it does not appear that there will be changes in the immediate future.

Let's just say the moral is really low in the district. And this is the icing on the cake.
I wonder if the public knows about the secret witch hunt going on to get rid of people in the maintenance and custodial areas. In
one such instance an employee called in sick and went to his cabin in the promised land (private property). The head of maintenance and custodial and his assistant followed him in their own vehicle on school time and video taped this person and asked him how it felt to be sick?. He was forced to resign. law suit possibly. It has happened numerous times that when a person calls in sick the supervisors will ride by your home many times and watch. This is a sign of some sick people.

another thing they are doing is hiding at night in dark stair wells listening and watching people as they work. And if you take two many extra breaths or take a sip of water they are ready to pounce. The teamsters union has had numerous grievances filed against the district causing thousands of dollars in wasted tax payer money all due to childish supervisory tactics. there used to only be one maintenance super and one custodial super and one secretary. Things went along pretty smooth. there were a few issues that could have been straightened up with the existing management in place however with all the palm greasing and crookedness going on behind closed doors we end up with many more bosses, secretaries and excessive waste just in one department. There is alot more going on behind those closed doors however it would take me hours to write. The public needs to take charge and demand their voice be heard.
