It might have been more informative to list those who did not make the High Honor or Honor Rolls in the District. Can you say inflated grading.
Anon 9:16-I am insulted by your generalization that there is inflated grading. I have a child at the MS who achieves high honor roll and works darn hard to get it. It's been my experience that the MS team teachers set a high bar for the kids and if they succeed in accomplishing it, then they deserve the recognition! Not the knock you just delivered. Your negativity is not appreciated.
Sorry, but I have to agree with Anon 9:16. The curriculum and standards at NAMS are ridiculously easy. I have had two kids go through that school already and they did it with half their brain tied behind their back. I'd like to think my kids are geniuses, but I know they are not - still they cruise through with stellar grades.
All this district cares about is the darn PSSA scores and the NASD reputation as a great school. There are no creative, earth shattering educational experiences going on here.
On paper, NASD appears to be awesome. Look under the hood - not too impressive.
It seems even a simple announcement that the honor roll has been announced will be enough for some to rail against the Nazareth school district. Sometimes can't you just congratulate those students and be done with it?
Grads to all of those you do get on honor roll or high honor roll. However the circ is not very rigorous or challenging Yes. there is grade inflation which does happen more than not at nasd.
