Articles I Missed While Keeping the Basement Dry

The last bad storm we had flooded our basement and ruined the motor in our furnace, so this time around I was vigilant in keeping the water out. Unfortunately, in doing so I seemed to have missed quite a few articles:
  • The Zoning Hearing Board will discuss plans to convert Lincoln Textile into 51 Townhouses and Condos (read it here).
  • As noted in the Agenda for the NASD, plans for a temporary parking lot (to be used while MS is being built, since the lot on Mitchell Avenue will be lost) will cost $78,000 is to be voted on along with other summer capital projects (read it here).
  • Lynn Snodgrass-Pilla of the Nazareth Library has an editorial on the value of libraries coinciding with the start of National Library Week (read it here).

Off to my meeting, Nazareth Downtown Association, and Brad Moulton indicated to me he will be attending the NASD Board Meeting. If you get to the Zoning Hearing Board meeting, send me a note and let me know what happened (editor@newsovercoffee.com).

Stay dry and may warmer weather arrive soon!

"According to Swigart, the district is trying to find a way to prevent students from parking on the side streets surrounding the school. She said students will drive to school even if the district tells them not to."

Since administrators are installing security cameras to deter students from breaking rules I hope this isn't an acceptable attitude about students' taking responsibility for their actions.

Also, the plan for the Lincoln Textile condos would be perfect if only it included a bus terminal on the ground floor. ;-) Thanks for the updates!

And it would be even more near perfect if they put some high end retail and restaurants on the first level. Or an art gallery or a theater (Movie) etc. Also I hope they keep the big awesome windows and the same basic original outside "factory" look.
