JD Malone had an article in the Express-Times that quoted the four candidates in the first ward (read it here).
The candidates - Conrad Bowers, Mike Kopach, Frank Maurek, and Jennie Williams offered differing amounts of information to Malone. Kopach, currently on the Council and Chair of the Highway Department, emphasized keeping best interests of the people in mind, the roads, and taxes. Bowers, the other incumbent advocated a borough manager be employed, and Williams mentioned keeping taxes down.
To date, these candidates have not contacted me about participating in the Candidate Open House. If you are a candidate, please consider participating in this event. It is an opportunity to meet voters and to have voters go to one location to meet the candidates for office. The event dates are noted below. Each will last from 7:00 until 9 p.m. and will be held at the Nazareth News Agency. This is a non-partisan open house. No speeches, no debates, just a chance to meet and greet the individuals who want your vote.
So far I have the following:
On Thursday, April 19, 2007 candidates running for Borough Council and County Council.
County Council candidate Peg Ferraro and John Maher and County Controller candidate Stephen Barron have confirmed.
On Thursday, April 26, 2007 candidates running for Nazareth School Board and District Judge. District Magistrate candidates: Todd Buskirk, John Capobianco, Yvonne Falcone, Gary Hammer, and Alan Siegfried have confirmed, as has School Board candidate Chad Cornell.
On Wednesday, May 9, 2007, all candidates are invited to attend this 'alternate' open house in the event of conflicts on previous dates (there was a County Council meeting on the 19th).
