If you purchase gas in and around the Nazareth area you are paying premium for regular gasoline.
Today driving from Nazareth on 191 to route 22, the gas station in Lower Nazareth was $2.91 a gallon. At Schoenersville Road and 22 the Hess was $2.57, a block down the road it was $2.61 at the Sheetz.
Previously I noted that gas in the area averaged about $0.10 a gallon higher. At $0.30 or more higher we are being gouged.
What do you think?

Ross,
The Hess station is now at $2.48 for regular. 44 cents cheaper than in Nazareth.
There were a ton of cars there as well.
This is insane.
I thought come Friday it would go up but it get dropping a cent or two each day. The cars were lined onto Schoenersville to the 22 ramp both thursday and friday when I went by.
Amazingly the Sheetz one block down was within a cent or two and I didn't go by the Wawa but that is usually right in the ballpark.
Funny how none of the stations in Nazareth have dropped but less than 10 miles away it is almost .50 a gallon cheaper.
make that $2.43 today.
Sounds like a price war.
There were people filling their cars and about 5 gas cans as well.
Unreal.
Having driven around a lot of the area over the past few days and as far up in PA as the NY border, these prices on Schoenersville Rd. are the exception, not the rule as everywhere else was in line with what we are paying in Nazareth.
My question is, why are they so much less? I have been by other Hess stations that do not have this low price.
One has to wonder if they have the same quality of gas, or maybe, they might be shorting the gallon?
The 2.43 dropped to 2.39 at the Hess when I left work today.
Sheetz was 2.43 and Wawa was about 2.45 (don't remember exactly but it was only a few cents off).
That would make three stations doing the same.
I think it is a case of good competition. By that I mean you have three gas stations wanting business and they are in an area that relies on commuters like me more so than residents. They are competing against where I live and against the others on the same road within a short distance. This is very unlike the situation in Nazareth.
And apparently good for the consumer!
my husband feels the gas is that gas made from corn that is sold much cheaper. The problem with it is you don't get as good of gas mileage he has noticed
I work in Allentown and have seen Hess stations on Hanover St., Union Blvd and Tilghman St all be down around 2.43. Someone at my office e-mailed today that the one by Dorney Park is 2.32. the Wawa on Union blvd. has stayed with the Hess on Union Blvd. and the Redners on Airport Rd has usually been about the same. I also paid 2.48 at teh Sheetz on Shoenersville Rd. Even the Valero on Fullerton Ave. is 2.79. So something is up with the 2.91 in town.
This link will help you find the best gas prices in the area. If you put 18017 (Bethlehem) in the zip code, you'll see that as of today, $2.32 is the lowest price in the valley.
