The Saucon Valley Board article notes that Nazareth is one of three area schools to have a Foundation, along with Easton and Bethlehem (read the article here). The Board directed its admin to learn more from these schools prior to going with options presented by a consultant that would have cost upwards of $20,000.
To that end, I sent an email to the Blue Eagle Education Foundation's Executive Director and the NASD's Business Administrator asking:
- How much money does the Blue Eagle Foundation raise annually?
- Of the money raised, how much was raised 'new' by the Foundation compared to transferred from existing scholarships and grants when the foundation was formed?
- What is the amount of expenses the Blue Eagle Foundation incurs?
- What amount of expenses and in-kind contributions does the NASD make to support the Blue Eagle Foundation?

Is Bruce Applegate still the head of the foundation? I thought I read somewhere he resigned. But then, if he's not, who is?
On the Blue Eagle Foundation web site under Board of Trustee's Bruce is still listed as Executive Director.
I did mention on a previous post that a School Board agenda indicated he had submitted his resignation.
I don't know the terms of that resignation (ie effective immediately or as of some future point in time).
To contact the Executive Director I used the generic email address on the site.
If I remember correctly, Bruce Applegate's resignation is effective at the end of the 07-08 school year.
