Thanks to Brad for forwarding the following:
Meeting started on time at 7:30. Callie and Marino were absent. There were no questions on either the agenda or during the first community corner.
Mr. Davis recognized NASD's AP Scholar, six (three in attendance) National Merit Scholar Commended Students and two Students who attended the Pennsylvania Governor's Schools. The AP Scholar title was bestowed to a student who took four AP exams and scores a 3.25 (out of 5) on all of them. The National Merit Scholar Commended title recognizes students who scored in the top 5% (out of about 1.4M) on the PSAT/NMQST tests taken in their Jr years. The PA Governor's School of Excellence is a five week long summer residential program for selected students in eight different areas of study (Ag Sciences, Arts, Global Entrepreneurship, Health Care, Information Society & Tech, International Studies, Sciences and Teaching). The two students recognized from NASD studied Teaching and Arts (empahsis on photography).
The rest of the meeting flew by. There was very little discussion (if any that I recall) on any of the Resolutions. There was only one dissenting vote and that was on Resolution V. Item G, by Keller. All resolutions passed.
The concluding community corner had a couple of questions. One was in regards to the tree line contract at LNES. It was explained that there is some overgrown vegetation (along with three downed trees) on the west side of the building that needs to be cleared out. The second question was in regards to the proposed dress code. It was further clarified that the dress code is for professional staff and has some minor clarifications, such as what is an acceptable women's shoe? There were no other questions or further discussion.
Meeting adjourned at 7:50.
