I received a note from a spectator who attended the recent JV football game at Andrew S. Leh Stadium and was concerned with the long response time of the ambulance crew when a player was down and trainers called for them.
Apparently the player was near the scoreboard and the ambulance is now located near Mitchell. The PA Announcer eventually alerted the ambulance crew they were needed, but the ambulance did not drive through the gate onto the field, instead a stretcher and board were brought to the player. Once the player was secured, one crew member went back to get the ambulance and then drove it to the player. The ambulance then used the Mitchell Street exit instead of Liberty.
The questions raised, included, what procedure is in place? what communication exists between the trainer and ambulance crew?, and do they practice/review situations?
In short, what can be done to improve this situation?
