I mentioned previously (read it here) about the library's digital archives. Today, the Express-Times has an article (read it here) on the program as well.
There is a WWII scrapbook featuring local servicemen and issues of the Nazareth Item, a once weekly publication in the borough. I had trouble opening the Nazareth Item using Firefox, but it did open right up in Internet Explorer.
The publication is searchable and it is a tremendous source for those interested in local history or genealogy. There are obituaries and 'what's happening around town' and by that it is not a local calendar but instead tidbits about who was visiting other towns and why, and who was visiting from out of town. Items such as Mr. and Mrs. Jones of South Main Street spent two days visiting relatives in Macungie. And we thought there were privacy issues with online records.
You can access the digital archive here.
