Drug Raid in Borough

The Express-Times reports that a home at 153 South Whitfield was raided by police and six people were arrested (read the article here).

The article also notes:
Inside the home police said they found two bags of marijuana, one bag of hashish and drug paraphernalia. Police said they also found a 20-gauage double barrel shotgun, a .270-caliber rifle, a 12-gauage shotgun, a handgun, a stun gun and ammunition.

Ok, How MUCH drugs, 2 BAGS is kinda vague. 300 #'s? Less than an ounce.... Looks like the info was released without being too specific. Hmmmmm, I wonder why.

well, john, i'll try and answer you question. The bags of weed were not found in the house. the person that had it in his pocket for his own use was honest with the officers and told them he had it in his pocket. way less than an ounce! the other so called bag was an empty cigarette wrapper with a few suspected flakes of weed. the search warrant said that because of neighbor complaints and also GOING THROUGH THEIR GARBAGE...THAT'S RIGHT...I SAID THEIR GARBAGE!!! they supposedly found a roach in one bag, and a few in a different bag!! That's right..they dug through the garbage. So what we have here is...geez i can't even think of a word for it, but it STINKS!! and your right for wondering. and as for feces supposedly on the floor, wow, to say that because the bust wasn't huge..just blows my mind.i think the police need to focus on all the heroin addicts in this town and find out where all the heroin is coming from...maybe if they dig in someone elses garbage, they might find syringes, and get a warrant to bust those people..but oops they might get that wrong and that person might have syringes because they are diabetic...i dont know what they were looking for, but the warrant said why, gossip and garbage picking, so late at night if you think you hear a skunk or racoon in your garbage, make sure you look first it might just be nazareth's finest!!!

Well I guess I'm glad that the dept is doing something.. but my concern is the fast that the "bust" seems to be over stated. Bags is a little vague, perhaps to make the dept LOOK better than it actually is. Going through garbage is actually a good way to see what people are doing, I don't thing that the officers are stealing things in the garbage. or At least I hope not. What concerns me is the fast that there are other things going on in this town that might deserve a little more attention.. Not to say that if these people were dealing, etc that they shouldn't be caught and punished.

ryan said...

Well put John, i totally agree.. Its about time we start doing something around here.. and to Tracy, ive never heard such a stupid comment.. i guess its okay in todays society to smoke weed, as long as your honest about it?? and if you just throw it away when your done, the police man shouldn't look there???

The cops in this town are doing the best they can, with the morons on skateboards (thats right Bernie i called them morons) that spray paint everything in sight .. so these people deserved what they got.. whether its cocaine, weed, acid, whatever, they found it and it is what it is.. good job guys.

Chris Miller said...

If I recall correctly, the police can go through garbage without a warrant. Since you tossed stuff into the garbage can you have no reasonable expectation of privacy. Bad guys are not smart they just think they are. The real dumb ones do things like tossing potential evidence into the garbabe can.

concerned said...

I would like to point out that the neighbors said this house has been a nuisance for YEARS. There has to be some type of activity going on there for what seems to be numerous complaints. Also, why all the guns and a stun gun? If you have nothing to hide, it shouldn't matter if the police go thru your garbage.

Unknown said...

hi john, just finished reading your new posting, and i have to agree with you on the bust being overstated and they jumped the gun so to speak...then we have ryan calling me STUPID and saying i said it's alright to smoke weed if your honest???? you need to go re-read what i typed because I NEVER said smoking weed was ok as long as your honest..get it right...and don't call me stupid..and for that matter never call anyone stupid!!!! as for the weapons, the hand gun they listed in the paper was a bbgun. and all the others were legal and registered, so thats the weapon thing in a nutshell. as for skateboarders being morons and spraypainting anything in sigh..you really should stop the stereotyping..just like most people in this town stereotype about one thing or another..that's what's wrong with this world today!!! they skateboarders im acquainted with actually leave nazareth, go to syerville, nj, philly amongst others just so they cant be blamed for the so called "morons" that ryan so eloquently called them..typical sterotyper in my book!!! hey, i give our dept. lots of kudos...they just need to get it a little more toghter, ya know!? after speaking with an attorney friend of mine, he said there is a fine line when it comes to garbage, especially since 9/11 and identity thefts at an all time high, if you put your garbage out on garbage night, if it is on YOUR PROPERTY it is still yours, however, if you sit it in the gutter or off your sidewalks, it is anyones perogative to go thru, and they still wonder why identity theft is up!? we could keep debating this till the cows came home, but as for me, i NEVER NEVER said smoking weed was ok as long as your honest about it...GET REAL!!!!! that's why i dont like typing blogging or even text messaging, because your voice isnt heard, and thats why most blogs texts and typing are taken the wrong way!!! id rather have a face to face any day over typing on this computer, but i am glad i have one and someone told me about this page. I like this page, ive told a lot of people about it!! So the debate continues, and there's a lot that could have been handled a lot better in my opinion. but like i said before, these are only opinions of myself and only myself. have a nice labor day week-end everyone!!!!

Unknown said...

i might as well add this too, once something is published in the newspaper, people believe what they read, so people just can't come to grips with sometime, not eveything you read is true, and as for the guns...ever hear of doe and buck hunting...even wild turkey hunting? just thought i'd ask.

Wayne said...

Tracy,

I can't help to notice that when you say, "..you really should stop the stereotyping..just like most people in this town stereotype about one thing or another.." You have just stereotyped most people in Nazareth!!!

As for skateboarders, I judge them by first-hand experience --- there's the good and then there's the bad

We hand shred anything that goes into the paper recycling that has any info on it - it's just the smart thing to do.

If what we've been reading here about the bust is correct, it does seem greatly exaggerated. But apparently the neighbors had a complaint. And if it was drug usage as opposed to drug dealing -- it's still illegal. Although dealing usually often occurs with extended use ("get high with a little help from my friends"). I doubt the neighbors would have a complaint if it was an occasional discrete joint.

To Tracy, your comment was sticking up for them. At least thats the way i read it. They had illegal drugs on them. I dont know who the kids are, nor do i care, but they deserved to be arrested. I dont see them doing any signicant amount of time or any for that matter. Your comment was stupid, i never said you were.

Brandon, when I was your age I was probably guilty of a lot more sins than I see going on here... but I was never caught. Sure, maybe having different looking people come to the house made it more suspicious in the eyes of others... that's a real shame. But the fact remains, illegal activities (drugs) were going on.

Personally, if you, your family members, or anyone wants to do drugs, that's between them and their dying brain cells. But, it's still illegal.

It's just like getting pulled over for speeding. You may not have been the only car speeding, but you are the one that caught the cops eye (maybe out of state plates or a beat-up car). Still guilty.

So Brandon yes, weed is not as bad as all that other nasty stuff, I think we all know that. That doesn't make weed any less illegal. And BTW, drugs (even weed) make you stupid, did you know that?

You can continue to feel sorry for yourself, complain that life isn't fair and be a loser --- or learn something. Choice is yours.

Brandon,

I now fully understand why our young people are failing out of school and we as a society are paying for it. Your thoughts are unclear, your spelling in horrendous (I do not care if it is the new text message lingo), and you are blaming everyone else and not taking responsibility for your actions.

You are a clear example of why this town and nation are going downhill.

Unknown said...

Brandon Brandon Brandon,

I will try to be nice on this. Your house was raided because you had something that is against the law. End of point. Had you conformed to the law, this never would have happened.

If you want to make a clear argument, type in complete words and sentences, and put down the weed so you can form a coherent thought. You are not doing yourself any favors putting out babbling information like this.

You may also want to check with your lawyer as what you are typing is in the public domain and anything you put here CAN be used against you in a court of law, so it would probably be in your best interest to keep some things to yourself.

Wayne and anonymous are right on the money with their comments.

On a side note, why are the "skaters" being brought into the is thread Ryan? How do you know it was the "skaters" that spray painted everything? Where is your proof? I guess they are the only ones capable of doing this. There is no way a jock would do it. They are all just perfect.

ryan said...

Anon..

You are absolutely right, i apologize for the skateboarding comments, but before i do..something to keep in mind. A group of boarders was seen hanging around the Wash. Street Playground, mysteriously after dark it gets tagged with spray paint? A local business owner i know chases them off his property, that night his entire building is painted. If youd like i can go on and on.. but thats not the point of the thread, so sorry i ventured off.

Brandon.. i canr even write back to wtevr it si ur tryng to say. I for 1 wouldnt derss lkie im black. If they didnt let you in school because you act black (which i highly doubt is the case), than why didnt you change the way you dress for school dude? Also for being a farm-hand and liking to hunt, thats fine, but since when does one need a stun gun for shooting a deer?

And unfortunately someone said this is what our town is coming to and was right on the money. You cant even blame Lesky for this one!

Brandon,
You can choose to listen to what I have to say, or not. As an experienced high school teacher I have seen too many young men (and women) who share your attitude. It is not up to the school to conform to you....it is up to you to conform to the school's and society's rules. I guarantee you your way will NEVER work. You will never make anything of yourself if you continue on the track you are now on. There is only one person responsible for what will become of you.....and that is YOU and the future choices you make. Marijuana is not a harmless drug. Persistent use will lead to burnout and complete motivational distortion.
You will never hold down a decent job, and never make enough money to support a reasonable lifestyle, which I'm sure you aspire to, but at this moment will not admit. Before it is too late, and you continue your downward spiral into further drug use and crime, I hope you will stop and think about YOU!
Either return to school with an attitude adjustment, or get your GED. Then pursue a technical school or something (legal of course)that peaks your interests and make yourself a SOMEBODY. It is never too late to get started....do it now. Don't wait until you are incarcerated for more serious crimes. Put some purpose in your life now....or live to regret it. People do care....you just need to show the effort. Good luck.

ryan, im sorry if you got the impression i was sticking up for anyone..even though im not underatanding that comment. yes, weed is ILLEGAL, and consequences go along with breaking the law!! im sorry to hear about the business owner whose business was all painted up just because they were asked to get off the property...that IS NOT RIGHT!! That is against the law too!! I'm just saying i was there, and saw first hand what went down, and something just didn't seem right from the beginning. as for anonymous stating that it's young people like brandon are the reason this town and nation are going downhill..give me a break..just a month ago 2 brothers who live half a block away from me, got addicted to heroing...yes seems to be the drug of choice in this town..well anyway they both went to yet another re-hab, and not even a week after they got out 1 of them overdosed on heroin, and then the other brother followed suit...thank GOD they are both ok, and then the other one od'd again..so god help these young kids who cant get off that heroin...as a community..we need to fight this drug HEROIN!! ive seen first hand what it can do. my son was addicted to it and it made him lie, steal cheat, just to get that drug..i know im off track, and yes i KNOW weed is illegal, but we're losing a lot of our young people to it heroin that is ...lets try and focus and get the HEROIN and the dealers out of our town...if we all work together, maybe, just maybe, we could accomplish this as a community, and take our community back!!! Sorry, now i'll get off my soapbox, but from what i understand that HEROIN really grabs ahold of you and wont let go!! as for mr. poopypants...there were no feces anywhere on the floor!!!!

Unknown said...

Tracy, I am glad that you want to get heroine users and dealers off the street. I want to take it a step further, and get all of the drug users and dealers off the street, including those that are doing "weed".

All drugs are bad. Some kill you, some just make you stupid. Doesn't matter, they are all illegal and any user and/or dealer should be taken off the street and put away, including your friend Brandon.

It starts with weed and works its way up to heroine. No one starts shooting up, they work their way up to it by starting with something a little more simple, like "weed".

I know you are just trying to divert attention away from your friend being busted for "weed", and I feel for you having a family member that has moved up to the stronger stuff, and the to kids that seem to be intent on taking their own lives with this drug. But, they started somewhere, and maybe Brandon should be happy that he is being busted for something simple and it is not the coroner wrapping him in a body bag after shooting some bad stuff in his arm or up his nose.

Brandon's mom,

Of course you love your son (I love mine, and Lord knows he has his share of problems too -- as do I), and if you read closely I think you'll see the majority of us here wish the best for him.

But wishing the best goes beyond just warm gushy sayings sometimes -- here it came with some advice. Advice that is sometimes hard to bear.

We all read from Karen & Brandon about how unfair it was that your family was seemingly singled out while worse goes on around town. Complaints about picking through the garbage. Complaints about how the school dress code somehow interfered with his education. Somehow the pin in his hip is also brought into this... We read all of this and hear from Brandon that it was "only weed".

He can be a wonderful son, human being and all, but it doesn't sound like he has learned a thing from this. You can blame the neighbors for being caught, but you can't blame them for his attitude about weed. Believe me, I've done my share of weed and worse in the past and it does nothing but suck the ambition out of your life. And if you knew he was still doing it (hell, the neighbors knew) you weren't doing him any favors by allowing it to go on.

Your son will be in my prayers. I wish I could do more, but maybe that is what he needs...

just thought i'd check this page again, and i saw your posting "k" nobody knows the real story except us....so i guess that's where it will remain...like we talked about before...hold those heads high...and live life everyday like it's our last, because you never know, it just might be. life is too darn short for this, ya know? I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!

ok brandon and karen... my turn... you guys can quit trying to cover up all the stuff that goes on in your house, i no from experience that 2 bags of weed isnt all thats goes on. you can try to put the focus on the heroin all u want. but heroin is an opiad just like the pills you sell in your house and thats where it all started for me at age 16 when you started selling me your pills. dont get me wrong the heroin is a big problem too. BUT SO IS YOUR HOUSE! where do you think it all starts. all those pills its like a pharmacy in your house, and dont even try to say you dont sell them. i purchased many of them from you in my drug days. you all know why your house got raided, youve been worried about this for years. thank god it finally happened. your ruining young peoples lives your just so far off in your own addiction you dont even realize it... i was dissapointed to hear that you only got caught with weed to tell you the truth. and i give props to the cops of nazareth for finally doing their job but dont give up on this house theres way more than weed to be found.

-?WHOisTHIS?

Unknown said...

If ?WHOisTHIS?'s comments are indeed true, then I really say hats off to the Nazareth PD.

Tracy, I feel for you and your son, but Wayne hit the mark in that even though your son has been "punished" for things in the past, he has yet to learn from those mistakes and take the necessary actions to become a part of our society. By you making excuses for him, which is completely understandable for a mother to do for her son, you are enabling him to view these things as being okay.

Speaking as a parent, I would support my child, but if they broke the law, they would have to suffer whatever consequences went along with it, period. They make their bed, they get to sleep in it.

Drugs are a problem in Nazareth, and I think there should be zero tolerance for any offender. You might also want to keep in mind that under federal laws, YOUR house could be taken away from you because of what your son had in it.

If you want to do the right thing, get your son in rehab, one where he is locked up and forced to get off of what he is taking. Then, and only then, will he be able to turn his life around, even if that means some jail time.

I personally am estatic that the drug house got raided recently. "k-bomb" and "B" have both been selling prescription drugs for quite some time now, while most of the time to young people who are still in school. Its such a shame how these people are ruining their lives as well those of the kids of tomorrow. You people need to stop blaming others for your problems. No one gets to pick their life, you are dealt the hand your are dealt, and must try to do the best with it. Also this I kno about "tracy" from a very credible source, you also should stop selling n dealing with drugs and learn from the drug raid, or you and your house we all could be reading about next.

Anonymous said...

First I would like to say that the individual who last wrote was very correct. There has been prescription pill's coming out of that house for quite some time now. And where doe's prescription pill use go to...the heroin use...so Brandon, god bless you but your comment was moronic because "us" people who know everything, know that it all start's at your house...It's A shame because it doe's start with the young teenager's who don't know any better...Not only Brandon but Karen also needs to pay for this...Getting out within a few day's seems a little fishy to me...
All I know is that I know several individual's who's live's have been ruined as a result of the Bruch household. And Tracy knows she has no room to talk. But She will because thats what her and Karen do, they love drama, Bruch's, I don't know if your telling or what but you gotta do the time if your doing the crime. You guy's will get your's. Karma suck's and for all of the live's you've ruined and continue to ruin, you'll pay the price.

Yes Karen, Brandon should keep on talking, as should you and Tracy.

This is a public forum, every word you have typed can now be used by law enforcement against you.

To those that have been posting your comments about first hand knowledge of what is going on in that house, I highly encourage you to contact either Nazareth PD or the DA to provide them this information, as well as any of your friends that may have the same.

Hopefully the PD and DA know what it being posted here and are putting it in their case file, so if these stories are true, these people can go on an all inclusive vacation to a small prison cell.

BTW Karen, maybe you want to wait until after you post to take you daily dose as I have yet to see you, or Tracy or Brandon for that matter, type a coherent sentence.

Brandon, your comment "cuz i know the people that hate us" makes me wonder why people hate you so much.
Is it because they or member of their families bought prescription drugs from your house at one time?
Maybe the drugs purchased from your house have ruined other peoples lives. I know you want to blame other people but maybe you should start with your parents because obviously you are a product of the environment you were raised in.
Karen, you want to talk skeletons in the closet. This is the link
