A group of Nazareth HS students are heading to DC to take in the inauguration, parade, their own gala, etc.
They leave on Saturday, January 17 and return on Wednesday, January 21. Details of the program are included here (impressive group of keynote speakers: Colin Powell, Al Gore and Doris Kearns Goodwin).

Impressive list of speakers my foot. Colin Powell who was overshadowed by Stormin Norman in Gulf War I. Colin Powell who sat as George Bush's Secretary of State, made a whole bunch of statements bad mouthing Bush but failed to resign, something an honorable indivudual would have done. Colin Powell now angling for a job with Obama but isn't going to get one. Al Gore, so far out in left field on his pet issue of the environment that he will never get back to square one. Also a noted liar on the issue of climate change. Will not debate on the issue of climate change. Set up a hedge fund on "green" issues to enrich hhimself and apparently lost his shirt on it. As for historian Kearns Goodwin, she is so far over on the left that you need to examine almost ever word she writes including words like "a", "and", and "the". These folks impress no one simply because they are not honorable people. And by the way who is paying for the trip? It better not be the tax payer.
This is a great experience for the students. However, I would like to know who is paying for the trip. If the district is covering some or all of the expenses, we should be made aware of it. I would not be surprised if the district and parents are sharing in the cost. See below the cost to attend
