Upper Nazareth Reorganization

Upper Nazareth Township recently had its reorganization meeting and the Express-Times reports (read the article here) that the township manager was not retained for a second year.

Apparently, Steven Salvesen, the township manager, was unaware that their were any issues with his performance and was notified as supervisors left a closed session prior to the public meeting. His desk was cleared and no explanation was given at the meeting.

Additionally, Joseph Emrick was named chairperson replacing James Fahr and Michael Rinker became vice-chairperson. Link

A reader emailed to say that the zoning officer was retained on a 'trial' basis and that Upper Nazareth failed to commit to the library's requested payment.

As a Upper Naz taxpayer, I'm very curious what happened with Mr. Salvesen. There must be a reason the Board excused him as Manager and since we (taxpayers) pay that salary, I'd like to know. Does anyone have any info? It seems there is more to this story.
