Nazareth Driver to Compete at Sebring

Nazareth area resident Corey Lewis will be racing at the BF Goodrich/Skip Barber National Presented by Mazda at Sebring March 19-20. The world famous 12 Hours of Sebring take place the same weekend.

Gas Technologies has sponsored Corey (visit their blog where coverage live from the track will take place next week) so he can compete at the opener, but he will need sponsor support for the rest of the season, which races at seven venues (multiple races per stop) from March through October on some of the best natural road courses in the United States.

According to Gas Technologies' blog, "In 2007, his first year in Skip Barber, he won 6 poles and 6 1st places. In 2008 Corey led the series for most of the year and nearly won the national championship."

According to the National site (visit it here):
The Skip Barber National attracts aspiring pros because of its equal-car format, comprehensive coaching, a proven heritage of developing star talent and its tremendous value: A full season costs less than $60,000.
The winner of the National series receives a $350,000 package to compete the following year in the Star Mazda series. Most drivers from Star Mazda advance to Atlantic Championships, though some move direct to Indy Lights and then onto the Indy Car Series.
