Freddy Awards

It may sound like WFMZ has turned over a big check to me (they haven't), but after touting their election coverage, I have to say tonight they've put on a tremendous Freddy Awards Show, still going on live (getting near the end).

The recognition goes beyond WFMZ to the State Theatre, sponsors, and most of all students.

The coverage had a cut-away to an introduction of the category by a student performer, different presenters for each award, it showed the nominees in the audience as they were announced, introduced the winner with a voice over providing background on the indivudal, and the show allowed the winner time at the microphone.

To see the genuine excitement of the students and amazement that they'd won was special and you could only feel good for them regardless of which school they represented.

All in all, WFMZ and the State Theatre gave the appearance of an awards show you'd see on network tv. Very well done and the energy from the audience was tremendous.

While not in Nazareth, and for those who have followed the debate, Nazareth does not participate, it is such a great event that recognition is due and hopefully consideration will be given in the future by NASD to participate and allow our students to enjoy and benefit from this event.

Closing number is happening now and I've got to watch!

It was great to see and the talent is amazing. They had preformances from each of the shows too. Shown again tonight on WFMZ.
