Parrothead Weekend

The Morning Call reports on a pair of events, one taking place in Nazareth, both featuring Jimmy Buffet Tribute Bands (read the article here).

On Sunday, August 29 from 2-6 p.m. Brown Daub Chevy of Nazareth presents “The Thrill on the Hill” featuring Jimmy & The Parrots, Magic Bean, and Wailing Waters. The event is a fundraiser for the Nazareth Center for the Arts and will take place at the Nazareth Borough Park Amphitheatre.

From the Caribbean to cities all over the US, Jimmy and the Parrots have been playing to delighted crowds for over 9 years. This renowned Jimmy Buffet tribute band is tropical rock at its best. In addition to Buffet, influences include Bob Marley, Beatles, Beach Boys, and the Zac Brown Band.  Band members are Jimmy Maraventano, Jimmy Maraventano, Jr., Hal B. Selzer, and Lance Hyland Stark.

Jimmy and Jimmy performed an acoustic duo at the Center in February to over 70 people.

Tickets are $5, available at Mitch’s Market, the Cool Treats Refreshment Stand at the Park, and online at www.nazaretharts.com.

Free tickets are available at Brown Daub Chevy of Nazareth on Route 191 during regular showroom hours – 9-9 Th, 9-8 F, and 9-5 Saturday.

Tickets will also be available the day of the show, gates open at noon. Weather forecast: sunny and 86 degrees.
