The decision to build a MS to alleviate elementary K-3 enrollments was coupled with a redistricting which sent more students to Shafer elementary, which had the most capacity.
Now the NASD is concerned they are sending too many students and a new plan has been proposed to give the school the option of which building to enroll new students via a ‘swing’ zone, according to an article in the Express-Times (read it here).
The plan is to implement this plan prior to K registration this spring.
