Nazareth Center for Arts 2011

The 2011 year kicks off this weekend with three events:

·         Friday, Brittany Ann Tranbaugh & the Lucas Joseph Collective, 8:00 p.m., Free Admission

·         Saturday, 4 Blind Mice & Friends, 8:00 p.m., $10.00 Ticket, those in attendance have a chance to win a 7 piece harmonica set.

·         Sunday, Artist Reception with Katie Hovencamp, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Free Admission

The Nazareth Center for the Arts opened its doors to the public in December 2009 and offered nearly 100 events in its first year of operation. Music performances spanning a wide range of genres, art receptions, poetry readings, storytelling, and open mic nights were among the many activities presented. In 2011, the Center will continue to conduct events and will also offer art classes for all ages and skill levels (more info nazaretharts@gmail.com).

The Center is ADA compliant and unique in that it features a combination Performance Hall and Art Gallery. The Gallery is open Tuesday and Thursday from noon – 2:00 p.m. and the first Saturday of the month from 1-4:00 except holiday weekends.

Performance seating is limited to 60 creating an intimate, listening venue, ideal for music lovers who appreciate fine musicianship and aren't interested in competing with the noise typically found at a bar or café. The space encourages interaction between the audience and musicians resulting in a memorable experience as songs and the songwriting process are discussed.

We pride ourselves on providing a diversity of styles by talented musical performers in a family friendly environment. Expect to see soloists to bands and quintets and hear modern and traditional forms of blues, classical, country, electronic, jazz, folk, new age, rock, and world in both acoustic and electric shows.

Download a schedule for January and February.

Eagle Call

Parents / Guardians / Students,

If you go to the HS webpage (http://hs.nazarethasd.org/), students can sign up for a new service I am going to provide called "The Eagle Call."

Basically, anyone (even parents) can sign up to receive e-mails to their computers or text messages to any cell phones. I will try and use this service to send out announcements and reminders about school events and activities such as exams, Eagle Block reminders, activities and events that are happening, and even snow days or delays due to inclement weather.

Imagine students receiving a text message within minutes of me receiving the call from the superintendent that school is closed???!!!!

This is in response to student feedback that reminders such as these will help them remember to sign up for Eagle Block. Anyone can sign up and more than one e-mail or cell phone can be registered.

I hope that you and/or your students will find this to be helpful.
