Lower Nazareth Zoning Denies Church

Lower Nazareth Zoning Board has denied the Faith Unity United Church of Christ permission to build on 3.72 acres because it is in an agricultural zone and that requires 5 acres despite the code stating a church can be built on 2 acres, according to an article in the Morning Call (read it here).

Compounding the confusion of 2 vs. 5 acres was phone and fax information from the township stating a church only needed two acres. At the hearing it was noted that 2 is the case unless there is something more restrictive elsewhere and there is the 5 for agricultural zones.
