Craft Show and Book Sale

It was a windy, but comfortable day for the annual craft show at the Whitefield House.

Surrounding the Nazareth landmark were a variety of vendors. There was a wide range of quality merchandise available to those in attendance. From folk and americana pieces to wrought iron hangers, paintings and photos, there was something for everyone.

We arrived around 10:45 a.m. and a good crowd of people moved from stand to stand along with us.

Food, refreshments, and treats were available near the entrance including a family favorite - Moravian Sugar Cake.

Those attending were also entertained by the Nazareth Community Band, which opened its second set with an audience pleasing Sousa march. They followed with a piece that was a bit of a departure, variations on a theme by Tchaikovsky. Not the standard band fare, but very enjoyable.

I can recall years when attending the event was nearly unbearable given heat, humidity, and insects - none were in attendance today. Simply an enjoyable morning with good entertainment.

We then traveled across the street to the Nazareth Memorial Library's book sale. Everyone found at least something they wanted despite it being the third day of the event (member preview on Thursday, then open to public on Friday and Saturday). We also reminded the kids not to buy back any of the items we donated earlier!

These two events are a wonderful example of how different community groups can coordinate events to benefit one another.
