I can't really pinpoint a specific date that NewsOverCoffee began because it started and stopped, and then I put some content on and built it before telling anyone, but one event did mark the start of posting original content. Last year I attended the April workshop on the last Thursday of March for the purpose of reporting what happened and telling people about the site.
After the meeting in my post I questioned if the new government center would be a future potential controversy. I hadn't then imagined what a controversy it would be. Then there was the issue of the potential teachers' strike, the open meeting violations, the new MS building, and the NASD budget.
All the while the traffic on this site went from zero to over 7,300 unique visitors last month and roughly 300 per day. This post is the 716th and the comments now come regularly with one post alone having had over 100.
For the most part this has happened without incident. There were a few deleted comments here and there, but I'm pleased to say that the overwhelming majority of people have bought in to my wish that this not be a place to attack one another, but instead to share information and news and discuss it.
To everyone who has read, submitted comments, sent me links and releases and to Brad Moulton who has helped out so much in contributing his notes from the School Board meetings, thank you.
Again if you have information to share and don't know where to put it, send me an email at editor@newsovercoffee.com
Thanks to everyone and have a great week!
Ross

Congratulations on your one year anniversary. Want to let you know that I read you blog daily as I do my newspaper. Keep up the good work
Ross, you provide a valuable service to those of us that call Nazareth home. As a new resident, I am so glad to have another source of information about my new town. I wish you continued success and look forward to many years of reading your site.
